Join the Independence Council for Economic Development as we host our 3rd Annual Impact Awards Luncheon on Thursday, February 25th at the Independence Events Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Impact Awards are given to Independence businesses who have made a significant impact to the city's economy through capital investment and/or employment. Last year we had over 175 attendees and 23 business were presented with an award.
Our keynote speaker will be David Kerr, Missouri's new Department of Economic Development Director. Named by Governor Jay Nixon in October 2009, Kerr came to DED from the Kansas Department of Commerce where he served as Secretary for more than two years following his appointment to the position in April 2007. His efforts resulted in job growth and investment from several major corporations.
